A new ice cream destination is coming to Costa Mesa, as Climb Ice Cream prepares to open its first storefront at The OC Mix, county records show. Located at 3313 Hyland Ave STE B2, the dessert shop is sure to be a hit for shoppers at the retail hub.

A timeline for when the concept will welcome guests is unclear. The latest records with the Orange County Health Care Agency’s Environmental Health Division show plans were submitted in July, and they are on their second round of revisions. The space is listed as under 2,000 square feet.

Founded by JoJo Ichikawa, Climb Ice Cream began as a passion project in her home kitchen last year. She was formerly in the tech world but was inspired into entrepreneurialism by a lifetime of global travel and climbing adventures. Ichikawa prides herself on using top ingredients for her flavors, which include Ube Chocolate Chip, Chocolate-Peanut Butter Oreo, Do Yuzu Wanna Climb?, Mount Matcha, Sum-Mint Chip, Cardamom Vanilla, and Strawberry v5.

Climb Ice Cream was announced as a new tenant by Continental Realty Corporation last month. It will join other notable retailers, including BoConcept, Design Within Reach, La-Z-Boy, and Roche Bobois, and restaurants like Arc Food and Libations, Butcher’s House, and Greenleaf Kitchen & Cocktails.
