Lil Vinny’s, owned by Alex Nikolloj, is a family-operated restaurant that will feature hand-made sauces, doughs and lasagnas. The basis for the name is Nikolloj’s son: Vincent.

During a phone interview on Monday, Nikolloj shared his vision for Lil Vinny’s: “I’ve wanted to open a small, local, family pizzeria. Kind of like what I grew up with up north.”

Previously the owner of a Giovanni’s in Winter Park, Nikolloj left to open Lil Vinny’s, and has garnered 21 years of experience as a restauranteur.

Nikolloj also emphasized the focus on quality behind his simple vision for the pizzeria. “It’s a red-sauce place, but it’s [going to be] a higher quality, like it was back in the day.”

The pizzeria will be located on at 2200 Winter Springs Blvd #111, which was previously host to a Papa Murphy’s.

Lil Vinny’s is set to open its doors next week, and is in the final stages of staffing and preparing to serve Oviedo pizza and pasta.

Nikolloj hopes to attract business with simple, high-quality menu offerings. “I want to cook everything fresh daily.”
