Back in September, What Now reported on the then-upcoming opening of Agave Azul Cocina Mexicana at 8685 Fenton St in Orlando—the sixth location for the Mexican restaurant. The opening has since come to pass, and now owner Juan Rios is at work on another new restaurant, according to coverage by Orlando Weekly.

Called Naya Comida + Barrita, it will be located in Trelago Market in Maitland, at 701 Vista Trelago (an address not yet viewable on Google Maps). The Orlando Weekly coverage describes Naya Comida + Barrita as a “contemporary Mexican wood-fire concept.”

“The menu will be centered around three elements dating to pre-Hispanic times — wood fire, nixtamal and mezcal. Naya will be inspired by the Pacific coast of Riviera Nayarit, featuring handcrafted tortillas using organic masa imported from Mexico along with mezcal and tequila-centric cocktails.”

Various posts on Naya Comida + Barrita’s Instagram page confirm the news and call for a “Summer 2026” opening.

What Now reached out to Juan Rios on Thursday to ask about plans for the launch. Rios was not immediately available for comment.
