Sapporo Izakaya & Ramen, a Japanese food establishment, is soon coming to Orlando, according to recent public records. The restaurant will be located at 2320 S Kirkman Rd, taking up the vacant suite next to Stonington’s Fried Shrimp.

What Now Orlando briefly contacted Xinqiu Chen, owner of the upcoming location, but he was very brief on the phone call and did not reveal much information about the upcoming establishment, only emphasizing that the eatery will specialize in ramen, as its name suggests. No opening date was provided.

Unfortunately, given Mr. Chen’s brevity, it was not made clear whether this establishment will be a reincarnation of the former Sapporo Ramen, the popular Japanese establishment which suddenly closed in 2019 and was reported on by The Orlando Sentinel.

If the Orlando Sapporo is anything like its fellow locations across the nation, readers can reasonably expect Japanese fare such as ramen, small plates such as sushi, and a full bar.
