Growing local Mexican sit-down chain Pepe’s Cantina will soon open an Oviedo location, according to recent public records. The restaurant will be located at 3100 Alafaya Trail, occupying the space of the former La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant.

“We believe this is a very well-placed and pleasant location, which was listed at a very good price,” says co-franchisee Luis Velasquez.

When asked whether the Oviedo location will change the concept or menu in significant ways, Velasquez assures future customers that they will find a familiar experience.

“The menu will be the classic Pepe’s offerings. Everything will be exactly the same. Only the decor will slightly vary.”

For those unfamiliar with the brand, Pepe’s offers brunch, lunch, and dinner menu featuring Mexican classics such as fajitas, tacos, and enchiladas, along with American options such as burgers and steak, with a full bar to boot.

No set debut date has been set as the team is still trudging through the necessary pre-opening bureaucracies

“We are waiting on permits currently.”

Until the Oviedo Pepe’s opens its doors, local readers may sample the growing chain at its locations in Winter Park, Clermont, and DeBary.
