Owner of Eaton’s Beach in Weirsdale, Randy Keuntjes, is already a few years into his newest project, Ski Beach Bar & Grill. Yet the eatery remains a little under a year from opening. As recounted to Daily Commercial, the new restaurant slated to open in Leesburg’s Venetian Gardens has experienced a few delays, and then COVID hit. But, despite the stops and starts, progress is being made.
Construction has reportedly begun on the waterfront restaurant, which is now expected to open by summer 2022.
Ski Beach Bar & Grill will, like Eaton’s, offer Florisiana cuisine, or a combination of flavors and dishes from Florida and Louisiana. Keuntjes told Daily Commercial the two eateries will have different menus, with dishes reserved for each spot. That said, you’ll find that Eaton’s shrimp and grits will make its way onto Ski Beach’s menu.
Along with Ski Beach Bar & Grill, Venetian Gardens is getting a 500-foot dock with 42 boat slips and an area for sea planes. The City of Leesburg is in the process of revitalizing the area, and the restaurant, all 9,600 square feet of it (3,500 of which will comprise a Tiki bar and waterfront patio), will contribute substantially to the efforts.
