Located right by the water, at 1601 S Atlantic Ave in New Smyrna Beach, the Islander Beach Resort will soon welcome a new restaurant serving up bar-style food and beer and wine. It’s called The Hideaway at New Smyrna Beach, and according to owner Robert McGrath, it’s expected to open this fall.

“We’ll have a simple menu: hamburgers, hot dogs, tacos, chicken, that sort of thing,” says McGrath. “It’s a small business opening up, we’re hoping people will come down.”

It’s the first restaurant venture for McGrath, who jokes, “I’m usually working outside, and I felt like, if I’m going to work 15-hour days for somebody else, I might as well work 18-hour days for myself!”

In addition to its food offerings, The Hideaway at NSB will also be a great spot for beer and wine, right by the beach.

The Hideaway is expected to launch within the next 60 days, McGrath says.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available!
