Winter Garden’s Plant Street corridor is set to welcome a new dining spot, with The Willow planned for a space previously occupied by Driftwood Market.

The restaurant will be located at 46 W. Plant Street in Winter Garden, in a roughly 1,860-square-foot space between AJ’s Pizza Joint and Way Chocolate & Coffee.

The West Orange Times & Observer reported that the project is a partnership between business owner Ryan Melnik and chef Denis Ramos, with the concept planned as an upscale, sit-down restaurant.

Ramos, who is also behind Soulshi Lounge, is joining Melnik to bring the new concept to life. The opening will add another dining option to the downtown Plant Street area, known for its mix of independent restaurants, cafes and other local businesses.

The project has moved into the permitting process. There’s no exact opening date as yet.
