After more than 37 years serving the Valley, Phoenix deli Scott’s Generations is closing. The restaurant shared an official closure announcement and said that the longstanding Jewish deli will permanently shut down by October 25.
Scott’s Generations Set to Close
Located in the heart of Phoenix, Scott’s Generations is a family-owned New York-style Jewish deli. It is well known for its classic deli traditions, massive portions, and scratch-made staples.
The menu includes pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, bagels with cream cheese, and a variety of homemade soups. The deli built a strong following in the community with over 37 years of dedicated service, nostalgic atmosphere, and authentic comfort food.
The Phoenix location has indoor seating for more than 160 guests, along with 30 guests on a full-service patio.
In an official closure announcement, the deli owners shared the closure news.
In the Facebook post, the owner thanked the community, customers, friends, and family for their support and encouraged them to visit the restaurant one more time.
Story Behind the Deli
Father and son Gene and Scott Snyder founded Scott’s Generations in June 1989. The deli aims to serve the Valley community with “authentic New York, kosher style deli cuisine.”
Currently, the deli is operated by Ross and Scott. Ross mentioned in the announcement that he grew up in the restaurant and learned about business by working there.
“The restaurant may be closing, but the relationships, stories, and memories created here will always be part of our family,” added the owner.
Over its decades of service, the deli has earned several awards, including being named the Best Jewish Deli by Phoenix New Times in 2026.
According to Arizona’s Family news report, the deli owners decided not to renew their lease in 2025.
As Scott’s Generations wraps up its operations in Phoenix, it hopes to celebrate its final weeks by serving the community.
