Ares Collective Group, the company behind popular concepts like Prep & Pastry, is expanding its East Valley presence with the relocation of one of its Tucson staples, as Commoner & Co. will be moving to the Cooley Station area of Gilbert.
The new location is currently scheduled to open in early 2026, according to Phoenix New Times. Previously, What Now Phoenix reported on Ares Collective’s plans to open a new concept called Clare House Social in Downtown Gilbert. The project will occupy the former Bergies Coffee property and will incorporate both the historic Clare House and an adjacent space formerly used by Ares for Prep & Pastry. The goal is to create a vibrant community gathering place with shaded outdoor seating, multiple food and drink options, live music, and game day viewing.
With Commoner & Co. moving to Cooley Station and Clare House Social taking shape downtown, Ares Collective is cementing its role as a major player in the East Valley’s evolving dining scene. Ares has envisioned creating neighborhood-friendly environments that prioritize connection, comfort, and elevated hospitality. Ares Collective is recognized for its thoughtful and design-driven concepts, such as Prep & Pastry and Commoner & Co., which seamlessly combine elevated menus with welcoming atmospheres. The group has built a reputation for honoring community history while introducing modern and trend-forward dining and gathering spaces.
When this new location opens next year, customers can expect a refreshed take on Commoner & Co., known for its polished yet approachable dining experience. The Tucson favorite earned a loyal following with a menu that balances elevated New American cuisine with seasonal ingredients and bold flavors. Guests can look forward to refined comfort food, craft cocktails, and a warm, design-forward atmosphere that reflects Ares Collective’s signature style. The Gilbert location aims to preserve the essence of the original while introducing elements tailored to the East Valley community.
