The Shop Beer Co., a Tempe-based microbrewery and taproom, is planning to open a location in Phoenix.
Dog and Pony Brew Co. LLC filed an application with the State of Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control to open a brewery at 3002 E. Washington Street.
According to plans filed with the state, the 15,000 square foot location will include brewing facilities. An opening date has not been announced. According to an email, the Phoenix location will not contain a tasting room open to the public — it is a production facility with the original Tempe location continuing to welcome beer lovers to enjoy a frosty cold one with friends.
The Shop Beer Co.’s Tempe location is more than just a place to grab a cold pint — it’s a community hub and creative lab that offers a robust lineup of events such as listening parties, bike rides, and trivia nights.
The Shop Beer Co.’s beer list is diverse and delicious. Rotating taps include a coffee brown nitro stout, Taco, a cinnamon-infused lager, a Goldfish West Coast IPA, and more. For its efforts, the small, neighborhood brewery has won a number of accolades include Phoenix New Times’ Best Brewery 2020, and has been included in Forbes’ Top 50 Fastest Growing Breweries list in 2018.
