Barro’s Pizza, the family-owned pizza chain, is opening a new location in Buckeye at Southeast corner of Miller Road & Broadway Road at the Marketplace at Heritage West. So far, an exact opening date has not been announced, though it’s expected to start serving by March 2026. The city of Buckeye announced the imminent opening on its “what’s new” page.

When the new location opens, customers can find the same pizza Arizona has loved since 1980, when Angelo Barro started making pizzas at the original Mesa location using his mom’s recipe. The pizzas were a hit, and the company grew. Now, there are nearly 50 locations throughout Arizona and Texas. Although the company has grown, it remains a family-owned operation.

Barro’s specializes in pizzas that come in various sizes from eight-inch personal size to 15-inch family size, with a range of toppings and specialty pies like the Southwestern Chicken, Mega Meat, and a Vegetarian. The restaurant also offers gluten-free crusts. Other items include sandwiches, pasta, and salads. Another popular item are Barro’s wings, which can be ordered bone-in or boneless and come in a dozen different flavors from original Buffalo to dry-rubbed lemon pepper.

The restaurant chain is also community minded and contributes to several different non-profit organizations such as St. Mary’s Food Bank and the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children.
