A brand new $140 million downtown Phoenix hotel, The Edith, recently broke ground on its site at Central Avenue and Adams Street.
The new hotel could finally move forward with construction after the project secured an $80 million construction loan from its developers, including Pacific Hospitality Group, Berger Holdings, and an affiliate of Sunbelt Holdings called JWG Investments, according to Phoenix Business Journal. The Edith will be part of PHG’s Meritage Collection and will be open to guests starting in Fall 2026, featuring an upscale full-service restaurant and bar, a new rooftop bar, and a cafe.
“This hotel will become an icon of downtown Phoenix, reflecting the vibrant energy of the city while setting a new standard for excellence in the urban hospitality market,” Garrett Busch, president of Pacific Hospitality Group, said in a statement.
When the project is completed, Phoenix will have a new 17-story, 180,000-square-foot, four-star, four-diamond hotel with 236 rooms and 23,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Other amenities included in the hotel include a new pool deck on the 17th floor, a luxury spa, and a fitness center. Renowned interior design firms Style Haus and Wild Muse will collaborate on the project to incorporate natural elements of the Arizona desert. This is one of the first hotels developed in downtown Phoenix in recent years and marks Pacific Hospitality Group’s first urban hotel in the Valley.
“This project will not only attract discerning travelers but also serve as a dynamic space for the community, fostering connections and experiences that celebrate the spirit that the city of Phoenix is known and loved for,” said John Graham, managing partner at JWG Investments, in a statement.
