De Babel is preparing to open its second Scottsdale location later this summer at The Edge retail development, according to the Phoenix Business Journal. The new restaurant will serve as the Mediterranean brand’s flagship as it begins a measured expansion following five years of refining the business at its original Scottsdale location.

In an announcement shared with What Now Phoenix, founder and CEO Marwan Kandeel said the decision to grow came only after the company felt confident its operations, leadership, and recipes could scale without compromising quality.

“We’ve never believed in growing for the sake of growth,” Kandeel said. “For the past five years, our priority has been earning our guests’ trust by delivering exceptional food and hospitality every single day.”

Since opening its original Scottsdale restaurant, De Babel has built a reputation for made-to-order Mediterranean cuisine, premium ingredients, and hospitality. The concept has also earned national recognition, including multiple appearances on Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in America.

Rather than introducing a new menu, the second location will feature the same customer favorites in a larger, more contemporary space designed to elevate the dining experience. The expansion is also supported by a new central kitchen and commissary, which will provide fresh daily production while helping maintain consistency across future locations.

According to Kandeel, the investment reflects a long-term vision of building a premium fast-casual brand headquartered in Scottsdale.

“Opening at The Edge represents the beginning of our next chapter—one built on world-class operations, outstanding people, and an uncompromising commitment to quality,” he said.

As the company enters its next phase, Kandeel said future growth will remain measured and focused on preserving the quality and hospitality that have built De Babel’s reputation.

“Our goal isn’t simply to open more restaurants. Our goal is to build one of the country’s most respected premium fast-casual brands while continuing to make Scottsdale proud to call De Babel its own.”
