After recently closing its doors in Downtown Phoenix, a new ownership group is taking over the Dog Haus located at 1 E Washington St.

At the time, the chain’s fourth Arizona location opened in 2020 under franchise owner Mondo Mahmound, making it his second location after a site in Scottsdale. Unfortunately, the downtown location struggled through the pandemic and was forced to close its doors in 2023 after the tenant failed to pay its rent. Now, the location is in the process of reopening in the next few weeks under new ownership from existing franchise owners Andi and Damon Ott.

Andi Ott tells What Now Phoenix that the Downtown Phoenix location is currently in its soft opening stage. A grand opening is planned in the coming weeks, although an exact date has yet to be revealed. This will be the duo’s third location, following their first two sites in Gilbert and Chandler. The 2,550-square-foot space features a bar with 24 beers on tap and multiple high-definition big-screen televisions.

Now that restaurant operations are returning to normal following the pandemic, the Pasadena, California-based Dog Haus is getting ready to expand throughout the country again. At the beginning of the year, the company announced plans to open six locations in the San Francisco East Bay area with NoCal Ventures. The first will open by year’s end, followed by subsequent restaurants every six to 12 months.
