Zaxby’s continues to grow throughout the greater Phoenix area, with multiple franchise owners securing more locations throughout the area.

Previously, What Now Phoenix reported on franchisees Brian and Jessica Nelson signing a multi-unit deal with the company, starting with a new site to the new Vineyard Towne Center. This location in front of the new Target is still in development, with construction being done as soon as six months, according to Phoenix Business Journal. While the two franchise owners have plans to develop six locations in the next five years in the East Valley of Phoenix, only one lease has been signed since What Now’s last reporting.

The Nelsons will officially open a new location at The Gilmore, a 35-acre mixed-use development situated at the northwest corner of Gilbert’s Val Vista and Germann roads. The franchisees are focused on developing additional sites in Queen Creek, Chandler, Gilbert, and Mesa and are working with Jesse Rozio of Ignite Commercial Real Estate to find the right locations. Rozio and the Nelsons previously worked together to secure the lease for Vineyard Towne Center and plan to open several more Zaxby’s locations by 2027.

Rozio and Ignite are also working with other franchise groups to bring more locations of this popular chicken concept to the area. The real estate company is working with a Jacksonville-based Zaxby’s franchise group managed by the DeGoey family, which includes Tom DeGoey and his two sons, Travis and Thomas. The family plans to relocate to the valley and open ten locations of the brand, with at least five leases already signed for the group. They focus on Phoenix’s West Valley, specifically in areas such as Glendale, Goodyear, and Surprise. It won’t be long until there are at least 16 Zaxby’s in the greater Phoenix area.
