The Chicago coffee brand, Fat Miilk is coming to Arizona. According to the Upper Westside Phoenix Instagram page, the new coffee shop will open in the former Sears at the Arrowhead Towne Center at 7780 W. Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale.

The former Sears at the Center is undergoing a major transformation into The Mosaic at Arrowhead Towne Center. The Vietnamese coffee brand joins several other restaurants and stores, including 99 Ranch Market and T-Swirl Crepe, set to open at the revamped location.

According to Arrowhead News, the project is still in the early stages, and no timeframe has been given for completion.

When its doors do open, Fat Miilk is expected to offer its specialized, bold Robusta beans and phin brews. On its website, the coffee brand shares that it works with Vietnamese farmers to vet and source “the highest quality organic green coffee beans.” Robusta is a coffee bean with twice the caffeine and antioxidants.

Fat Miilk’s website also states that the owner, Lan Ho, is a Vietnamese American Harvard-educated pharmacist who was pursuing a career in medicine, only to get fired in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ho founded Fat Miilk in Chicago that year.

Her new passion: bringing the flavors of her heritage to America. It appears those dreams are paying off with the first Fat Miilk cafe expected to open in Arizona in the near future.
