According to East Valley Now, Goldwater Brewing recently purchased a 2.49-acre property at 685 S. Gilbert Road for $3.8 million. An opening date has not yet been announced, and there’s no word yet on whether the facility will include both a taproom and a brewing facility.

Goldwater opened its flagship brewing facility and taproom in Scottsdale in May 2015 as a family affair, with brothers Chad and Dillon McClelland, their father, Greg, and brother-in-law, Jimmy Disken, combining their personal strengths to make their dreams a reality.

Their hard work proved successful, with Goldwater Brewing opening two additional taprooms in East Mesa and South Tempe. When it opens, Gilbert will be its fourth taproom.

Goldwater Brewing Co. offers a core lineup and seasonal beers, ranging from pilsners to heartier stouts and porters. In 2024, Goldwater won a bronze medal at the World Beer Cup for its Oats M’gotes oatmeal stout, a “a rich blend of roasted malts and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies”, according to Goldwater’s website.

Goldwater Brewing Co. has become a favorite with locals, who enjoy its craft beer, food trucks, and Football Sundays. The Phoenix New Times named Goldwater Brewing as one of Phoenix’s Top 100 Bars in 2024.
