The corner of Warner and Ellsworth Roads is about to look much different in the future, with a new Starbucks coming soon.

Earlier this summer, East Valley Now reported that Starbucks will open new locations on the southwest corner of Warner and Ellsworth. The developer’s plan includes building four pads along Ellsworth Road. The first pad, where Starbucks will be located, will be just south of Warner on Ellsworth. Two additional pads will be built further south, with the fourth pad designated for a two-lane Chick-fil-A. There’s no timeline for these openings. This will be a great site for Starbucks, with more developments planned for the area.

Novva Data Centers, a state-of-the-art data center company providing purpose-built facilities, recently announced plans to build a 300MW data center campus on 160 acres of land outside of the 202 loop at the northwest corner of Ellsworth and Warner roads, according to a press release. Novva acquired the acreage via a state land auction in August 2023. The campus is Novva’s sixth site and first entry into Arizona. The data center provider will invest over $3 billion to build the campus in two phases over the next decade. Novva predicts the project will take 10 million human hours to construct, and the first phase, with 96 Megawatts of Critical IT Load, will launch in late 2026.

“Building sustainably, preserving natural resources, and ensuring that we are addressing community concerns are our top priorities as we begin our Mesa data center project,” Novva’s CEO Wes Swenson said in a press release. “Novva Mesa will employ the latest technology to help us reach ambitious goals, such as 100% renewable energy use and drastically less water use when compared to a typical data center.”

When the new Starbucks and Chick-fil-A open in this corner Mesa location, it will be an excellent spot for all the data center workers to grab a bite to eat. It’s unclear what other tenants will be moving onto this development, but it will sit on the opposite corner of the Novva Data Center. When Starbucks opens, customers can expect the same delicious coffee and pastry options found at thousands of other locations worldwide. The company is also working on a new standalone site in Mesa at 3543 S Ellsworth Road, across from Dignity Health—Arizona General Hospital Mesa.
