Mesquite Fresh Street Mex, the fast-growing Mexican chain restaurant, is preparing to open in Laveen at 5535 W. Baseline Road.

Previously, What Now Phoenix reported that the company was working on a new location at 7601 S 56th Avenue, between the Laveen Spectrum shopping center and Laveen Village Marketplace. Now, according to YourValley, the company has shifted its plans slightly and will open on a different plot of land near the previously reported site. The new 1,200-square-foot restaurant will be the brand’s 11th brick-and-mortar location in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

The Laveen location, which is now expected to open in Spring 2025, will feature a grab-and-go window, a 900-square-foot patio, and a drive-thru, making this an excellent spot for a quick lunch. The menu will resemble the other ten locations and include tacos, burritos, quesadillas, protein bowls, and other items. This is a massive achievement for brothers Nas and Ahmad Alatrash, who opened Mesquite Fresh Street Mex and began as a walk-up taco stand. The brothers are now opening their 11th location following a recent opening in Tolleson on December 7.

“Launched in Old Town Scottsdale back in 2015, two close-knit brothers had a dream to make great-tasting and affordable Mexican street food. They cooked fresh meats over real mesquite wood and captivated their guests with real street flavor that reminds you of being in places like Rocky Point, Mexico. When lines started to form, and people came back daily, they knew this little taqueria could be something special. Mesquite Fresh Street Mex has ten locations and has plans to grow in communities throughout Arizona.”
