Old Town Scottsdale is about to get a new Japanese restaurant in the area. According to Rein & Grossoehme Commercial Real Estate, Eddie Chow, who owns Nanaya Japanese Kitchen on Indian School Road, recently purchased a restaurant building at 7341 E. 6th Ave.

The restaurant is tentatively named “J-Town,” although when contacted by What Now Phoenix this week, Chow says that name is not final. Plans for this new concept are still in development, so Chow wasn’t able to divulge too much information but he did say that he plans to debut this restaurant in early summer

If we had to guess, we suspect that this new restaurant will be similar in fare to Nanaya, which specializes in using traditional Japanese techniques with contemporary ingredients to create fresh takes on popular Japanese dishes. This new restaurant is one of three concepts in the pipeline for Chow.

This year, he will open Moto Moto on the ground floor of the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Phoenix, plus a concept called Matsuri in to the Valley as well. Stay tuned for more information.
