The Pemberton, a one-of-a-kind community retreat in the Valley, is getting ready to reopen in Phoenix at 1121 N 2nd St.
True North Studio acquired the property in 2018 after curating the neighborhood for most of the last decade, according to DTPHX. Now, after opening in January 2021 and closing in March of this year, the group is about to reopen The Pemberton at the end of the year, featuring various “zones” that will each have a unique menu of elevated food-truck-style cuisine and cocktails that fit each theme. Guests can select a zone, open a tab with the wait staff, enjoy their dining experience, and move on to the next zone.
When the reimagined Pemberton reopens in the next few days, guests will notice a refreshed design that celebrates the best features of the original while also addressing areas for improvement. Inside, several uniquely designed areas will be available, including an Icelandic campground with dreamy lighting, intimate dining arrangements, and gathering places that celebrate multicultural themes, such as an Italian beach club, a Tokyo alley, a Dia de los Muertos celebration, and a 1960s Palm Springs resort-style club. Each environment will also have controlled sound with music that complements the setting, providing total sensory immersion.
The second phase of the development, which is expected to launch in Summer 2025, will introduce its dining scene within the historic Pemberton house, taking advantage of Pemberton’s entirely outdoor dining area. The indoor concept will have a 1920s Art Deco aesthetic, with fine dining and a sophisticated bar environment. Also planned for next year, True North Studio plans to introduce expanded hours and brunch programming.
