Pepper Lunch, the Japanese fast-casual teppanyaki-style concept expanding in Phoenix, has announced its next location at 2945 W. Dove Valley Road, Suite 301.
The newest Pepper Lunch location has recently completed construction and is currently undergoing final licensing and inspections before opening to the public, according to a recent liquor license application. While an exact launch date has not been announced, the site will join several other tenants at the development, including Tropical Smoothie Cafe and Luna Grill.
Pepper Lunch first entered the Phoenix market with plans to open 10 locations over five years through a partnership with the B.I.D. Investment Group, as previously reported by What Now Phoenix. The franchise group is set to open its first location at Arizona State University’s University Gateway Building in September 2025, according to a company representative. The ASU location will offer quick, sizzling meals cooked on a hot iron skillet right at the table, with options including beef, chicken, salmon, and tofu.
Jake Ireland, managing partner at B.I.D. Investment Group has emphasized the brand’s potential in Phoenix’s fast-growing metro area, noting the demand for unique, fast-casual dining options. Pepper Lunch CEO Troy Hooper has also praised the partnership and anticipates continued success with domestic franchise expansion. The Dove Valley Road site marks another milestone in the company’s ongoing efforts to bring authentic Japanese teppanyaki to a broader audience in Phoenix and its surrounding areas.
When the new Pepper Lunch location opens, customers can expect a fast-casual dining experience centered around sizzling, made-to-order teppanyaki served on hot iron skillets right at their tables. Guests will enjoy a variety of fresh options, including beef, chicken, salmon, and tofu, with the freedom to customize meals using an array of sauces and spices. The interactive cooking style offers a unique, flavorful, and engaging meal for all ages.
Editorial Note: A previous version of this article mentions the franchise group already opened its first Pepper Lunch at ASU, when in fact this location is expected to open later this year.
