Riley’s Irish Pub plans to open in the former Source space at 3150 E. Ray Rd., Suite 104, inside Epicenter at Agritopia in Gilbert. Co-owner Cheryl Riley told What Now Phoenix that they currently expect to open in late November.

According to Gilbert Now, Cheryl and her husband, Brian Riley, came up with the idea after creating a pub in their garage during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It began with a two-tap kegerator that Cheryl gave Brian for his birthday. The setup later grew to five taps, and then 17 as friends and neighbors started gathering there.

The experience led the couple to plan a permanent neighborhood pub. They see Irish pubs as places where people share everyday life, and they want Riley’s to give customers a place to spend time with family and friends.

Family photos cover a wall in the Rileys’ garage. They plan a similar display in the pub’s hallway and hope customers will create their own stories there.

Riley’s Irish Pub will serve Irish food and proper pints. The pub will also have live music, sports, and a traditional Irish snug. Construction is underway at the former Source restaurant.

The Rileys recently traveled to Dublin, where they continued researching Irish pub traditions ahead of the opening.
