According to signage reported by Community Impact, Whataburger has plans to bring its newest Arizona store to South Chandler. A sign posted to fencing at the location reads, “A new Whataburger Coming Soon,” with the address 3077 E. Queen Creek Road listed. An opening date as not been announced, however the image shared by Community Impact shows the onset of construction at the site.

The fast-casual burger chain already operates 29 Arizona stores, 22 of which are in the Valley. South Chandler will bring that number up to an even 30.

If you’ve somehow been missing out, here’s what you ought to know. Whataburger started back in 1950 when founder Harmon Dobson decided he wanted to “serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold.” The first store was located on Ayers Street in Corpus Christi, Texas. Today, you can find more than 800 Whataburger shops across the country, all of which serve 100% pure beef on a 5-inch toasted bun.

You can find Whataburger on social media to see just what that looks like.
