Slim Chickens is opening a new restaurant in Gilbert.

Real Estate Instagram account, Gilbert Now, posted the news that Slim Chickens is about to break ground at Fry’s Plaza on the corner of Power and Elliot Roads in Gilbert. An opening date has not been announced. Barnett Management Company will operate the restaurant as part of a multi-unit deal signed in 2021 to launch 32 Slim Chickens restaurants in Arizona over 10 years as their exclusive operator in the state.

Slim Chickens is known for its hand breaded chicken tenders, wings, wraps, salads, and sandwiches. Customers can choose from a variety of dipping sauces to make their meal one of a kind, including cayenne ranch, honey mustard, honey barbecue, Slims sauce, and ranch. The restaurant also serves sides such as fried okra and fried mushrooms, and offers Southern-style jarred desserts. In addition, Slims Chickens also offers kids’ meals, family meals, and can cater entire parties and events.

The restaurant was founded in 2003 by Greg Smart and Tom Gordon in Arkansas, and has since expanded to about 250 locations throughout the U.S., and the United Kingdom.
