A new Mexican restaurant called Taco Cinco is getting ready to make its debut in Phoenix, located at 777 E. Thunderbird Road, Suite #100.
The new restaurant will move into the former home of The Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar and a location of Bear and the Honey, according to a recent liquor license application. Details from the application indicate that the restaurant is currently under construction, with the buildout expected to be completed by mid-July 2025. While it remains unclear exactly when owner Pedro Huichapa plans to open the doors, the space is being actively prepared for its debut later this year. Taco Cinco will be joining a busy retail center that already includes Kint Fitness, Desert Nail Spa, Sumo Snow, and Kava Bar.
The location offers strong visibility, newer construction, and prominent signage along a high-traffic, signalized intersection. It is situated near the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Resort and Golf Course and is adjacent to well-known businesses, including McDonald’s, Shell Gas, and Walgreens. With a surrounding population of over 370,000 people within five miles and an average household income exceeding $100,000, this location positions Taco Cinco for a strong start in a thriving, high-traffic area.
Another factor that makes this a promising location for Taco Cinco, beyond its high-visibility corner near the Moon Valley Center, is the lack of direct competition in the immediate area. Aside from Xolo across the street, there are few Mexican dining options nearby, giving the new restaurant a clear opportunity to stand out. While specific menu details have yet to be announced, Taco Cinco is well-positioned to bring something fresh and needed to the neighborhood. Its arrival will add welcome variety to the local dining scene.
