The Melt, a California-based fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in reinvented American comfort food, is getting ready to open a new location in Tempe at 777 South Novus Place, Suite 111.
The company’s newest location, and second in Arizona, is set to open within ASU’s Novus Innovation Corridor sometime in Summer 2025, according to an announcement from the company on social media. It’s unclear exactly when this new location of The Melt will open, but it will follow the company’s successful Valley debut in Paradise Valley. Founded in 2011 by Jonathan Kaplan, the company initially aimed to revolutionize the fast-casual dining experience with high-tech cooking methods. Today, the restaurant has over two dozen locations scattered throughout California.
The Melt’s menu offers a variety of American comfort foods, including MeltBurgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, and crispy chicken options. Favorites include the classic MeltBurger, BBQ Bacon MeltBurger, and Mac ‘n’ Cheese Grilled Cheese. Plant-based alternatives, such as the Impossible MeltBurger and Spicy Mission, cater to vegetarian customers. Sides, such as garlic parmesan fries, and desserts, like brownies, complete the lineup. Seasonal specials are also available throughout the year, such as the Harvey Milk Shake for Pride Month this month, with $1 from each shake supporting Equality California.
The news of the upcoming ASU locations comes on the heels of the company’s continued expansion throughout Los Angeles, with recent announcements of two new locations set to open in Long Beach and Hollywood Park. The Melt will open a new location in the Bixby Village Plaza, followed by another site coming to the retail district of Shops at Hollywood Park, along with Raising Cane’s, Panini Kabob Grill, Lan Noodle, and Rhythm Bar and Lounge, collectively representing over 13,000 square feet of new leases at the project. These new locations prove The Melt is nowhere close to slowing down its expansion plans, hopefully with even more coming to the Valley.
