The Mexicano announced its official grand reopening on Friday, January 31, 2025. Located at 4801 E Cactus Road, the restaurant—founded by Chef Joey Maggiore—will reveal a fresh look, a new menu, and enhanced activations. Following a closure due to a kitchen fire last fall, the restaurant is ready to welcome guests back with dinner service and lunch starting in 2 weeks, along with daily happy hour specials and the return of energetic live entertainment the Valley favorite has been known for since its debut in 2021.

“We are so thankful for the incredible reception and support we received the first time around, and we are beyond excited for what’s to come with The Mexicano 2.0,” says Joey Maggiore, chef and co-founder of The Maggiore Group and Chef Joey Concepts in a statement. “This second round will match the energy of the original, but with an elevated, vibrant, and sexy new décor. Plus, the immersive experience that we’ve been working on will take it to the next level. The greenery and flowers come to life for the most spectacular experience for our guests. “

The reimagined space has undergone a dramatic transformation, designed by the creative eye of Chef Joey’s wife Cristina Maggiore. The ‘Mexicano 2.0’ features an open, airy feel with a mix of immersive greenery, sleek furnishings, and a covered patio for al fresco dining. Guests will be drawn into the vibrant atmosphere that combines sophistication with the lively spirit of Mexican culture. Known for its interactive activations such as the build-your-own margarita bar, The Mexicano will be introducing a new experience to wow diners, a fresh tortilla-making station that will bring an authentic touch to the dining atmosphere.

Guests can expect the same chef-driven menu of authentic Mexican cuisine infused with modern twists with signature dishes, such as the guacamole and salsa Ferris wheel, alongside the addition of several new dishes that Chef Joey promises will keep diners coming back for more. New menu highlights include *The Best F#%ng Fried Quesadilla Taco, Pork Osso Bucco Molcajete and Chorizo Stuffed Zucchini Blossoms. But the transformation doesn’t stop there. The Mexicano is also introducing a revamped cocktail menu, expertly crafted by the world-renowned Jason Asher, a highly celebrated mixologist from Phoenix.

The grand reopening celebration kicks off Friday, January 31st at 3 PM with an evening of food, drinks, and live entertainment to welcome the community into the newly transformed space. The first 100 guests will get at $30 gift card to use that day, or on their next visit. In addition, anyone who dines during opening weekend will get a chance to attend the exclusive VIP pre-party to The Mexicano in Chandler opening in early 2025. The Mexicano Chandler is located at 3095 W. Chandler Blvd. in the Chandler Fashion Center.
