The Original Arcadia Tavern, a local favorite since 2009, is coming back to life at 3950 E. Indian School Road, Suite #150.

The new Arcadia Tavern is set to open in September 2025, taking over the recently closed Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers location on the northwest corner of Indian School and 40th Street, according to the company’s social media. This revival is brought to you by Square One Concepts, the same group behind Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, Bourbon & Bones, and Wasted Grain, who originally launched the Arcadia Tavern back in 2009.

“The name still brings a smile to neighborhood faces, and we’re excited to deliver an updated version with delicious food and drink,” Square One CEO and founder S. Barrett Rinzler said in a news release.

The Original Arcadia Tavern will feature numerous modern amenities, including a large patio ideal for gatherings, a scratch kitchen that crafts made-from-scratch meals, HD televisions perfect for watching sports, bike racks for cyclists, and complimentary valet parking for added convenience.

The menu promises to delight with shareables like skillet cornbread, double-patty smash burgers, fresh salads, sandwiches, and a range of dinner entrees. Guests can also enjoy a thoughtfully curated cocktail list alongside dessert options such as bourbon apple crumble and a skillet cookie.

Although the venue will operate under a new name, it carries forward the spirit and many fan favorites of Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, ensuring loyal patrons still find their go-to brews and burgers.

“Everyone knows Arcadia is one of the best neighborhoods in all of Arizona, and we are pleased to be of service again to those who loved it and to new guests who discover us,” added Rinzler.

The return of The Original Arcadia Tavern aims to re-establish a local gathering place that balances community roots with updated dining and entertainment experiences, making it a welcome addition to the East Phoenix dining scene this fall.
