The Vig, a local restaurant in six Phoenix neighborhoods, is preparing to open a new location in Mesa at 1744 S Val Vista Dr.

The company’s seventh site is set to move into the Village Square at Dana Park, between Costa Vida and Chico’s, according to Whitestone Reit’s website. While The Vig was announced for this site last year, Gilbert Now points out that the company recently completed the demolition phase of its construction project and is making significant progress toward opening its highly anticipated location. The restaurant is scheduled to open in Summer 2025.

The Vig is a restaurant from Genuine Concepts, founded in 2006 with the opening of The VIG Arcadia. Following this, the restaurant opened locations in Fillmore, McCormick Ranch, McDowell Mountain, North Central, and Park West. The neighborhood restaurant offers a welcoming environment, incredible food and drink options, and a dog-friendly atmosphere.

The restaurant offers everything from a variety of classic appetizers such as pretzels, chicken wings, truffle parmesan fries, and more, followed by soups, sandwiches, tacos, and entrees, including fish & Chips, grilled salmon, Thai noodles, and more. The Vig also has plenty of delicious cocktails, wine, and beer on draft, making it a perfect place to visit after a long shopping day.

Village Square at Dana Park, a premier regional lifestyle center in Mesa, is an excellent location for the restaurant due to the high foot traffic from surrounding businesses. Other restaurants in the shopping center include AJ’s Fine Foods, Barnes & Noble, RA Sushi, Pei Wei, and Pita Jungle. Spanning 70 acres, this distinguished shopping center captivates visitors with its vibrant street scene and carefully curated mix of tenants, providing a diverse array of retail, dining, and entertainment options.
