Undertow, a craft cocktail bar owned by Barter & Shake Hospitality, is set to join the lineup of tenants coming to the Epicenter at Agritopia located at 3150 E Ray Road in Gilbert.
Kailee Asher, who co-founded the company with her husband, Jason, and his business partner, Rich Furnari, told What Now Phoenix that they had just been given the keys and have not yet started construction.
However, she also noted that the new location will be comparable to the size and feel of the current Undertow, as they will be using the same contractor for the upcoming project.
Those who have been to the main location inside the Century Grand in Phoenix will know the environment is shaped as an immersive cocktail experience following the adventures of Captain John Mallory and his crew. All the décor and special effects have also been custom created by various commissioned artists.
The cocktails are all crafted from Jason Asher and the company’s Director of Bars, Mitch Lyons. The website states they always hope to push boundaries with flavors, ingredients and imagination.
Since opening in 2016, the cocktail bar has received a Top Ten Nomination for the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards, the Best Cocktail Bar for Phoenix Magazine’s Best of Phoenix, and Best Cocktail for Arizona Restaurant Association’s Foodist Awards.
With no official opening date, Asher said she hopes to open by March 2022.
