Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill plans to open its first Arizona restaurant at San Tan Village, located at 2218 E. Williams Field Road in Gilbert.
Co-owner Eric Anders told What Now Phoenix that the restaurant is expected to open in early fall 2027. An exact date has not been set.
The Gilbert restaurant will be the company’s first location outside California and will serve as its flagship.
Anders and Ofer Shemtov opened the first Wood Ranch in Moorpark, California, in 1992. They took over a former barbecue restaurant and renovated it with a $5,000 budget. More than three decades later, the company’s current directory lists 18 operating restaurants, all in California.
A menu for the Arizona restaurant has not been released. Existing Wood Ranch menus include smoked brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs, beef ribs, and barbecue chicken. The restaurants also serve oak-grilled steaks, seafood, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and house-made desserts.
