Chit Chat on Maple is opening at 165 Maple St in Florence, OR, according to a filing with the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission. Owner Marianne Brisbane is behind the new business, joining a stretch of Maple Street already home to businesses like The Chicken Coop on Maple and Maple Street Grille.

Brisbane is a familiar name in Florence’s business community. Travel Lane County recognized her in 2020 with a Community Leadership Award for her years of entrepreneurship, mentorship and community leadership within the local visitor industry, a track record that points to deep local roots ahead of this new venture.

Maple Street sits in the heart of Florence’s downtown area, a small coastal city in Lane County known for its Historic Old Town district along the Siuslaw River, dune access nearby and a steady flow of tourists traveling Highway 101 along the Oregon Coast. Businesses along this stretch, including boutique shops and casual restaurants, have built the corridor into a walkable draw for both residents and visitors.

No further details have been released yet on Chit Chat on Maple’s concept, whether it’s a bar, cafe or retail space, or an expected opening date. What Now has reached out for more information and will update this story with any response.
