According to an article from Everout, a new concept called Navigator Coffee aims to debut at 12006 N Jantzen Drive.
“I’m shooting for a May/June launch; a summer opening! We’ll be serving locally-roasted coffee, organic smoothies, fresh-squeezed juices and breakfast sandwiches with bagels from Ben & Esther’s. For aesthetics, think sea shanty,” Navigator Coffee’s Founder and Owner, Justin King, told What Now Portland.
“It’s a small spot overlooking the Columbia River with big open windows to create an “indoor deck” if you will. Navigator will also house Hayden Island Boat Rentals, where we’ll rent out pontoon boats to groups who want to get out there and explore the Columbia and Willamette Rivers!”
“Originally, I was just looking for a space for my boat rental company, Hayden Island Boat Rentals. Happenstance would have it that I’d stumble upon this spot, which was previously a ramen restaurant. Seeing that there were no cafes on the island (except for Starbucks at Jantzen Beach Center) and no healthy options, I decided to fill that gap.”
“Being on the water is essential for my well-being. I’m an avid boater and SCUBA diver, and I’ve been part of the marina community here for a long time, so it’s just natural that I’d figure out a way for me to spend my days by the river!”
