According to a recent permit filing, Barn Radio will soon open in Downtown Portland, located at 215 SW 1st Avenue.
A representative of Barn Radio was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Portland’s request for comment.
While overall information is limited on Barn Radio, upon further research, it looks like Barn Radio is described as “a w—i—p (work in progress) space and platform for electronic music artists,” according to their Instagram.
Loop Net describes the space that will be housing Barn Radio to have been originally built in 1915. The leasing area is listed to be approximately 9,500 square feet and is no longer being advertised.
The Loop Net advertisement states that the property has a spacious open layout, well-appointed back office areas, and ample storage. The property boasts high ceilings, said to add a sense of grandeur to the space, while mezzanine areas within each suite offer additional utility and creative potential. Abundant natural light streams in through large front windows and a skylight.
According to Bizapedia, Barn Radio was filed approximately 7 months ago, back in March of this year. The permit filer as well as the registered agent for Barn Radio is Cole Johnson, with the business filing listed as active.
