Owners of the new Madrina Cocina are getting ready to open the doors to the public in late August.
The new restaurant will be at 1237 SW Jefferson Street in the downtown area. It was recently posted on the business’ Instagram that it is “coming soon.” This will be a full-service Mexican restaurant. As August is the tentative time of opening, the business will be giving more updates in the coming weeks.
The listed owner is Lucy De Leon, who is also the owner of Salsas Locas at 4512 SE 28th Avenue and La Patroncita at 2832 SE Belmont Street. Salsas Locas started as a tortilla business and became a kitchen with its success throughout the years. This is the newest venture for De Leon.
The menu has not been made public yet, but guests can at least expect meats, tacos and wines as indicated by their social media. At Salsas Locas, many bean and rice dishes and tortillas are served.
Madrina Cocina will be right next to Walk The Wok, and in the same plaza as Thai Chili Jam Restaurant, 21st Century Pizza and Dil Se Indian Cuisine. The business was listed as open on Google, but when speaking with an associate of Walk The Wok it was confirmed they are still in the process of getting ready to open.
What Now Portland has reached out to the owner, and this article may be updated.
