Owners of a popular Mexican breakfast food cart have a brick and mortar they are ready to showcase to the community.
La Osita owner Elizabeth Nolasco recently gave an update on their brick and mortar location coming to 1135 SE 80th Avenue, the former Taylor Court Grocery store. She said they are very close to announcing the opening date. Right now, work is being done inside the space.
The restaurant has been operating out of a food cart at the Plaza 122 shopping mall. Their menu features bowls, burritos, tacos as well as coffees and smoothies to choose from. The location is known for having infused breakfast items.
In the description on their GoFundMe page, if they pass their Monday inspection they will get closer to opening. It has been a long road for the team as they have been operating since 2018 and have been eying expansion for three years.
“We do not have an open date yet but we are certain it will be sometime in October,” says the GoFundMe page. It adds there will be an announcement for a soft opening before the grand opening.
The inside will have dining areas, a bar, long bench and a kitchen. It also looks like the outdoor space may be utilized in some way.
