The Bay Ocean Food Court will soon have a new tenant this year.
Big Shaun’s Smash Burgers, which already has a location in Nehalem, is moving into an outdoor food court at 112 N Highway 101 in Rockaway. This is a project that has been a year in the making. There is no estimated opening date right now, but owner Shaun Jesse said he is going to be moving into the space early next week.
Right now, Jesse still has to go through inspections for the food cart he will be occupying. He began to have his doubts the new venture would happen as he was trying to find funding, but recently the money came through and he found the perfect spot in Rockaway.
“The owners are super awesome and just as excited to have us as we are to be joining the food court team,” says the post from the burger restaurant.
The current Big Shaun’s Smash Burgers location is inside the Mohler Co-Op grocery store at 34890 OR-53 in Nehalem. Their current menu features the signature smash burger, spicy smash burger, black bean, and elk burger. For the new food court spot, there will be two or three new burger options that have not been announced yet.
The Bay Ocean Food Court is at the corner of S Nehalem avenue and Highway 101. There is currently a Thai restaurant in the space, and more vendors are actively moving in. Jesse and his team will be making an announcement on the new location in the coming weeks.
