Southern food options are on the menu at a new carryout spot coming in about a month.
Chef Justin Eaton is working to open his concept called Crafted + Carried at 1135 SE Grand Avenue. This will have Southern food catering and delivery options available for the area. Eaton, an experienced chef from Arkansas, is looking at a mid-October opening right now.
Eaton told What Now Portland for the restaurant, he is “bringing in great produce and a wonderful farm-to-table atmosphere. On the website, sandwiches and wraps are advertised, with an official menu coming soon.
“Made with soul. Packed to roll,” is the company’s slogan.
Eaton said there is the possibility of expanding the brand in the future. He founded IDK CAFE & Catering in Rogers, Arkansas, and he currently works at The Cockpit Cafe in Rogers. He describes himself as executive chef and “chief creative dude” of Crafted + Carried.
Crafted is joining other restaurants at the Grand Avenue Food Hall, including SOL Modern Indian Cuisine, ThaiDash, Beau Thai and Hawaiian Bros Island Grill. The business looks to be going in on the north end of the building and will have a pickup window.
