An award-winning chocolate shop is introducing a large new space this September.

The Portland Tribune recently reported on a second location from Creo Chocolate coming to the Northeast side of the city. This will be a “chocolate lab” and tasting room set to open at 100 NW Farragut Street, Suite 102. This will be debuting on Sept. 13 with a grand opening party.

Co-Owner Kevin Straub has been working with his parents Tim and Janet to unveil the space to the Piedmont neighborhood. Chocolate will be made at the new shop, allowing those to see the sweets that will be made before tasting. It will also be a retail model, so chocolate can be bought in the shop.

The original chocolate shop is at 122 NE Broadway in the Eliot neighborhood and has become famous since opening in 2014. The Eliot location mainly sells chocolate bars, boxes of chocolate and truffles. Their chocolate is made from Ecuadorian cacao beans.

In July, the team took to social media to announce the new space is under construction. It will have multiple rooms where chocolate is made and to socialize. Straub said there will be drinks like coffee served at the space in the future.

Information on the new tasting room can be found on their Instagram page @creochocolate.
