The bakery started by two brothers with locations in Portland and Beaverton is expanding in a couple of ways.
According to recent reports, Dos Hermanos is expanding their production facility at 1015 SE Stark Street. This comes along with news that three carts at the Lil’ America food cart pods will leave so that the expansion can take place. Lil’ America is known for hosting exclusively BIPOC and LGBTQ-owned businesses, and the spots that are leaving include Hawker Station, Speed-O Cappuccino and Makulit.
Dos Hermanos is partially owned by ChefStable, a company that partners with and builds restaurants around the Portland area. ChefStable owner Kurt Huffman told What Now Portland the expanded version of Dos Hermanos at the food cart pods should be open in four-to-six months. An additional new location will be announced sometime in October.
In English, Dos Hermanos translates to “two brothers.” These are Gabriel and Josue Azcorra, who began baking in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico before managing Delphina’s Bakery. The two then opened their first Dos Hermanos location on N Williams Avenue in 2018, now owning two locations including one at 12400 SW Broadway Street in Beaverton.
The menu for Dos Hermanos has grown a lot in recent years, with the locations serving sandwiches, salads, pastry items and drinks. Signature sandwiches include the Papa Gabe with ham, escabeche, queso fresco and cilantro, and their Cochinita Pibil with slow braised pork shoulder and pickled red onions.
The grand opening of their Beaverton location was on June 13. The expansion for the Lil’ America bakery will include a remodeled and air-conditioned cafe. For more Dos Hermanos news, visit their Instagram @2_hermanos_bakery.
