According to an article from New School Beer, El Viejon aims to partner with Gigantic Brewing’s SE Hawthorne location at 4343 SE Hawthorne Boulevard.
El Viejon will open sometime in March, an Instagram post states from the company; This will be the first Portland location. Currently, El Viejon has two food truck locations in Vancouver, one at Vice Beer and the other residing at Fortside Brewing. For Gigantic Brewing, the SE Hawthorne location makes three different locations for the concept.
“Established by Chef Eldy Prado, a veteran of both fine dining and street food, El Viejón specializes in authentic Nayarit-style Mexican dishes but also isn’t afraid to have fun with less traditional specials like the chorizo and roasted pepper burger that won the 2024 Brewers Burger Brawl.”

For Gigantic Brewing, the company’s website states “Our Hawthorne location is open daily for draft pints, great eats, and to-go bottles. All ages are welcome. Well-behaved leashed dogs are allowed on the large beautiful patio only.”
