A downtown restaurant space near the riverfront is being converted into a new pizza spot.

Edan MacQuaid recently submitted a liquor license application for his new restaurant Edan Pizza at 204 SW Yamhill Street. This comes after the MOD Pizza location shut down along with others around the country due to downsizing. The opening date is set for sometime in October.

MacQuaid has experience as a cook and chipper at Portland Fish Market. He had been looking for a new space to introduce his restaurant concept for about a year. In June, he finally found the space.

The exact pizzas on the menu have not been announced, but various meat flavors can be expected. The menu will also feature roast leg of lamb and salads.

For listed hours of operation, it will be everyday 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m., and outdoor hours are everyday 11:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Edan is being constructed on the first floor of the Yamhill Plaza building, close to Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen and Treebeerd’s Taphouse. The Yamhill District light rail station is also less than a block from the building.

As it is early in the opening process, no website or social media have been set up for Edan Pizza yet. More information will be released in the coming weeks.
