According to a recent permit filing, Hachi will soon open its first Portland location downtown at 580 SW 12th Avenue.

“We’re very excited to open Hachi in Portland next February,” owner Yoshinari Ichise told What Now Portland.

Hachi’s website adds, “From hot to cold appetizers and fresh sashimi to savory izakaya favorites of top-notch quality, we bring the best Japanese fine dining experience right to your home.”

An article from the Portland Business Journal states, “The 2,300-square-foot space at 580 S.W. 12th Ave. in the Culver Building has been leased by a group called Hachi. The group also owns popular ramen spot Ramen Ryoma, which has a location on Southwest Morrison Street.”

“Hachi has a Las Vegas location, but this appears to be the first Portland location for the brand. The high-profile location became available earlier this year when restaurateurs Peter Cho and Sun Young Park closed Toki, the Korean restaurant they opened in 2021. Prior to the pandemic, the popular brunch restaurant Tasty N Alder was in the spot.”
