A Newberg restaurant with a mobile food cart will soon have a new location in the city southwest of Portland.
From Kopitos Cocina’s Facebook page, the company has a new “permanent home” in McMinnville. This is going in at the Mac Market collaboration space, 1140 NE Alpine Avenue. Owner Miriam Sangabriel told What Now Portland she is hoping to open by Oct. 7.
“With more than 10 years in the restaurant industry, our talented chefs and hard-working team are here to bring fresh authentic food to your event,” says the description on their Facebook page.
The new location will first be open one day a week and will later transition to five days a week. Mac Market also features the Alea cafe, Day By Day Bar, Honey Pie pizza and the Wellspent Market. The announcement of the new Kopitos location was made on Sept. 9.
The current Kopitos restaurant is at 101 E 1st Street in Newberg, also south of Portland. There are lunch options like gorditas, empanadas, burritos and bowls, as well as their New York steak tacos. The location also serves beer and wine, and a new menu is being planned out.
Their mobile food cart travels out to venues around Newberg, including Abbey Road Farm and Natalie’s Estate Winery. The menu is similar to the restaurant location, with variations based on the seasons. Now, the owners are getting ready to park the cart for good.
