After 38 years of service, Ernesto’s Italian Restaurant is closing. The family-owned establishment announced on Facebook its last day of business, July 13. Since opening in 1987, Ernesto’s has been a neighborhood fixture in Raleigh Hills. The bar and one dining room will serve a limited menu from 4 pm to 9 pm during the week of July 14 to 20.

The team behind Ernesto’s Italian Restaurant announced plans to close this month.. A post shared on Facebook on July 9 extended gratitude to the restaurant staff and patrons. The post explained that the decision followed thoughtful consideration by the team.

“While this chapter draws to a close, we take with us the cherished experiences and connections built over the years,” the post read.

The farewell note recognized Ernesto’s staff, past and present, who became the driving force behind the restaurant with their commitment, passion, and unwavering dedication. Ernesto’s will serve its last full day of service on Sunday, July 13.

The bar and one dining room will stay open with limited offerings during the week of July 14 to 20 from 4 pm to 9 pm. The team invited guests to stop by and celebrate Ernesto’s legacy during its final week.

Operational and Menu Shifts

Ernesto’s got its start in the basement of Raleigh Hills’ Fred Meyer, under the ownership of Chris Wegner. Over the years, it became a go-to spot for family dinners, neighborhood meetups, and milestone celebrations.

Chef Marco designed a diverse menu that included salmon, steaks, and a signature Italian buffet. The restaurant’s menu was extensive, featuring everything from pasta, lasagna, fettuccine, and pizza to soups and homemade tiramisu.
