New Restaurant From Dimo’s Apizza Owner Coming This Month

Big changes are coming to Dimo’s Apizza on the east side of the city.

The owner of Dimo’s Apizza has three new additions he is bringing next door to his pizza restaurant.

Doug Miriello is working hard to expand his restaurant Dimo’s Apizza at 701 E Burnside Street. While it is currently only a pizza restaurant, the new Italian deli, market and bar that will go next door will be called Dimo’s Italian Specialties.

When speaking with Miriello, he told What Now Portland the location will be a “full-on market place” along with a cocktail bar and a weekend supper club which will be in the back room. This is the former Burnside Brewing Company space.

At his current location that has been open five years, Miriello serves New Haven Neapolitan-style pizzas. They also serve handmade pastas and salads. Signature pies currently served include the margarita, wild mushroom, tie dye pie with grana padano and pecorino, and the father with fennel sausage, hot pickled peppers, ricotta and fontina. 

The Oregonian reported that the new restaurant will have culurgiones, which is a stuffed and pleated pasta “dressed like a salad with oil and saba.” Sandwiches will be available at the deli market, which will have ingredients from the pastas and sandwiches at the current Dimo’s restaurant.

Miriello said he is hoping to have the new location opened by June 25, but this will be confirmed next week. The hours for the new restaurant have not yet been set.
