A new business with the same name as a Cajun seafood chain is coming to the city.

A new liquor license application was submitted under the name The Kickin’ Crab, coming to 3846 SE 82nd Avenue. This will be in the Southeast Portland area in the former Izzy’s restaurant space. A timeline of opening has not been announced.

The listed owner of the Kickin’ Crab location is Yen Nguyen. When contacted, Nguyen did not respond for comment. It is not yet confirmed if this will be the first location for The Kickin’ Crab in Portland.

The former Izzy’s chain offered pizzas, salads, bar food and baked goods. According to the liquor license application, the revamped space will have the capacity for 100 seats inside and 20 outside. The hours of operation are to be determined.

Kickin’ Crab is known for its crab meals, oysters, shrimp scampi and other seafood dishes. If this is a new Kickin’ Crab location, it will join the other restaurants in California, Texas, Arizona, Missouri, Georgia and Nevada. There is no restaurant listed for Portland on the website as of now.
