The original location for the popular Portland pizza shop is being revitalized in a unique way.
A new concept from owner of Sizzle Pie Matt Jacobson is soon to arrive at 624 E Burnside Street at the original closed location, per a report from Bridgetown Bites. This concept will be called Fast Times and will serve pizza slices along with ice cream. Jacobson told What Now Portland he is hoping to open in a couple weeks.
The current Sizzle Pie location is at 949 SW Oak Street in the Pearl District. It offers varieties of veggie and vegan-friendly pizza, It first opened at 624 E Burnside in October 2013. Since then, it has gained much recognition, with many calling it Portland’s best pizza.
Inside, there will also be classic pinball and other games to play. The ice cream is plant-based, and Jacobson is already planning on giving out samples this weekend. For the pizza, it will mostly be by the slice.
“The usual way I approach new businesses is mash together things I love,” Jacobson said.
The storefront will have two doors, one for Fast Times and the other for the ice cream. At the same building is the Dirty Pretty bar. It will join the many other bars and restaurants in the Kerns area.
